The Cedar Products
Backpaddle Canoe offers a variety of western red cedar products. All products have a minimum of 3 coats of high quality marine varnish and are assembled with weather resistant hardware and fasteners.
The Canoes
Our standard canoe is a design with a flat bottom for stability. It is 13' long with a beam of 36" and has a rocker of 1.5" which makes it ideal for lakes and slow moving rivers. Its staple free assembly is constructed from 1/4" clear western red cedar strips with 6 oz fibreglass covering the exterior and interior of the hull coated in 3 layers of epoxy and no less than 3 layers of UV resistant marine grade varnish. They come equipt with 2 walnut tapered seats woven with rawhide webbing and a matching yoke. The gunwales have scuppers and are made from cherry. All exposed hardware is brass and hidden fasteners are stainless to ensure a corrosion and stain free canoe for years to come. It can hold the weight of two average adults and its small size makes it easy to transport and carry. It weighs an average of 52 pounds. A 16' flat bottom canoe and a round bottom pond canoe is also available through special order.

Canoe Paddle
We stock 60" and 63" paddles, but can be built to custom lengths. Every paddle is constructed from western red cedar with a red oak cross which runs the full length of the shaft into the blade. The 1/4" blade is reinforced with 6 oz fibreglass and has an epoxy impregnated nylon rope protecting its edge. This construction makes the paddle lightweight, balanced and durable. Their unexpected elegance makes them attractive for practical use as well as for interior decor.

Electric Trolling Motor Mount
Available in left and right hand drive, they are long enough to mount a trolling rod holder, and easily clamps to the canoe gunwales at the desired distance from the operator.

European Beach Chair
These durable chairs are surprisingly light weight and comfortable. They break down to a dimension of 15"W x 27.5"L x 3.25"T. The twill fabric back comes in yellow, blue and red. They are easy to carry which lends them perfectly to any outdoor adventure or event.

This elegant little table has an open dimension of 24"W x 26"L x 6.5"T and folds to a dimension of 11"W x 26"L x 5.5"T. Its light weight makes it easy to carry and in its folded position can hold snacks and a bottle of your favourite beverage making it ideal for a quick, easy getaway.
